About Me

Over more than twenty years practicing as a massage therapist, I found many of my clients wanted to talk and share their thoughts and the difficulties they were facing in their lives as well as receive the healing touch of massage, so starting my training to become a counsellor in 2012 seemed the most logical way forward for me. It had become clear too that mind and body were not just two sides of the same person, but inextricably entwined and responding to life events together, perhaps even unconsciously.

I believe talking therapy can change lives, helping people grow and become stronger physically and emotionally, but I also know that no two people are the same, so there are no ‘one size fits all’ treatments. I combined different types of massage during my treatments, depending on the needs of my client and now, as an integrative psychotherapist, I do the same thing, as I draw on different models of therapy.

I have experience in working with a range of issues including:

Depression

Anxiety

Self-Esteem

Stress

Childhood & Domestic Abuse

Gender & Sexuality

Suicidal Thoughts

Work Related Issues

Pregnancy & Childbirth

Relationship Difficulties

I hold a Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (NCS Accredited) and I am a member of the  British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am on the board of trustees at Share Psychotherapy, where I have been a volunteer therapist since 2013 and on the  register of counsellors for SAYiT, an organisation supporting LGBT+ young people.

I am also a member of the Sheffield Counselling Circle, a group of experienced therapists and counsellors working  together, offering a range of experience and knowledge, helping you find a way forward with whatever is on your mind.
